Sinag Pilipinas demolishes Vietnam at SEA Games 2011

Sinag Pilipinas has won for the second straight time at the 26th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Indonesia Tuesday. The Philippine men's basketball team defeated Team Vietnam, 107-53.

Sinag Pilipinas took control of the entire game, outscoring their Vietnamese opponents 32-4 in the first quarter, 59-23 in the second and ending the 3rd quarter with 84-41.

Greg Slaughter was the game's highest-scorer, giving the Sinag Pilipinas a total of 20 points. Three other Filipino cagers scored in double digits - Parks (19), Ellis (11), and Lanete (11).

The Philippine team will be facing on Wednesday the last team in their bracket, Thailand. Team coach Norman Black had voiced out that they are clueless on what game the Thai team will bring since it is just recently that Thailand was reinstated into Fiba.

"Thailand has been (previously) suspended so we’re not sure yet what game they’ll bring. But we’ll do more scouting there. Hopefully, we don’t play Thailand in our first game," Black told PhilStar.

Sinag Pilipinas won gold at 25th SEA Games in 2007.
