"The Artist", a French silent film set in the 1920s, was this year's big winner, walking away with four awards including Best Picture.
It also proved to be a good night for "The Help" which took home 3 awards including Best Acting Ensemble.

| PMPC Star Awards 2011: ABS-CBN wins big |
ABS-CBN emerged as this year's big winner as it bagged 26 trophies, including "Best TV Station", for the third consecutive time. GMA-7, meanwhile, had 15 awards while TV 5 received six. Studio 23, UNTV 37, and NET 25 got three, two and one, respectively.
The PMPC also gave special recognition to Nora Aunor, German “Kuya Germs” Moreno, Jessica Soho and Susan Roces.
The event will have its telecast on ABS-CBN on Sunday, November 27, 2011.

Apart from the winners in various categories, the 3rd Star Awards for music also honored 15 "Filipino artists who’ve been making a mark in the music industry for about 40 or more years, and whose contribution to the industry is unquestionably great." They are Pilita Corrales, Freddie Aguilar, Jose Mari Chan, Celeste Legaspi, Sylvia la Torre, Basil Valdez, Jim Paredes, Danny Javier and Buboy Garovillo of the APO Hiking Society, Pepe Smith, Victor Wood, Ryan Cayabyab, Mike Hanapol and the UP Madrigal Singers.
It was also a big moment for phenomenal superstar Nora Aunor as she received the 2011 Star Awards "Lifetime Achievement Award," last night.

Katy Perry, this year's most nominated artist, also received an award for "E.T." which is the "Best Special Effects in a Video."

The 2011 Teen Choice Awards was successfully held at the Universal City's Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles, California on August 7, 2011.
Hosted by Big Bang Theory's Kaley Cuoco, the teen awards show gave the most number of recognition to singing sensation Taylor Swift who took home a total of 6 awards including the "Ultimate Choice Award." Following closely was Disney star Selena Gomez who bagged 5 surfboard-shaped trophies while her boyfriend Justin Bieber walked away with 4.

Charice gets 2 nominations in '1st Annual Glee The Music Awards'
Charice, playing as Sunshine Corazon on Glee, was nominated in the 1st Annual Glee The Music Awards which will aired via live stream on PerezHilton.com on May 31st, 8 p.m. (ET).
Charice's duet with Lea Michele (Rachel Berry) of "Telephone" got a nomination in the "Best Duet" category. Her solo performance of the "Listen", on the other hand, has been nominated for "Best Guest Performance" award.

The Gawad Urian Awards 2011 awarding ceremony was successfully staged Tuesday night at the Marriott Hotel in Resorts World Manila. It was hosted by Ai-Ai delas Alas, Butch Francisco, and Cesar Montano.
The Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino (the Filipino Film Critics), the group behind the Urian Awards, awarded the "Best Film" to "Ang Damgo ni Eleuteria" which director Remton Siega Zuasola also received the "Best Director" trophy. The film also bagged the "Best Cinematography" and "Best Music" awards.
Meanwhile, Fe GingGing Hyde and Sid Lucero won top acting honors. Hyde went home with the Best Actress award for "Sheika" while Lucero was named Best Actor for "Muli."
