Bagyong Kabayan (Tropical Storm Kabayan) has gained more as it moves in a West Northwest direction, the PAGASA said.
Bagyong Kabayan (Tropical Storm Kabayan) satellite image as of 6 a.m., July 29, 2011 | Source: PAGASAAccording to the PAGASA, Bagyong Kababayan (International codename: Muifa) was "estimated based on satellite and surface data at 840 km East of Catarman, Northern Samar (12.4°N 133.2°E) with maximum sustained winds of 85 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 100 kph. It is forecast to move West Northwest at 15 kph."
There has been no storm signal issued.
The state weather bureau also said the weather disturbance is "too far to directly affect any part of the country."

Bagyong Kabayan has intensified into a tropical storm as it entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the PAGASA said Thursday afternoon.

It is forecast to move Northwest at 15 kph," the 5 p.m., July 28, 2011 PAGASA bulletin reads.
Bagyong Kabayan may have gained strength but the state weather bureau said that the cyclone is "too far to directly affect any part of the country."
There have been no public storm warning signals issued.
