'Austin Powers' actor Joseph Son alleged in killing prison cellmate

"Austin Powers" actor Joseph Son has been considered as suspect in the death of his cellmate at a California prison where he is serving a life sentence.

Joseph "Joe" Hyungmin Son, 40, who played the role of Random Task, one of Dr. Evil's henchmen in the 1997 blockbuster film "Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery," was convicted in the 1990 gang rape and torture of a 19 year-old Southern California woman. He arrived at Wasco State Prison, in Central California, on September 16th.

Son's cellmate, a 50-year-old man who remains anonymous as his next of kin is still being notified, was found dead in his cell on the evening of October 10th. Prison officials are investigating Son's alleged involvement in the death. Son has been placed in solitary confinement for "safety reasons."

Joseph Son is a retired mixed martial arts fighter and manager who later became an actor. Apart from "Austin Powers," he also appeared on other movies like "Shootfighter II," "Bad Blood" and "Bloodfist V: Human Target."
