Filipino-American brothers Justin and Nathan Brewer make it to 'X factor' Top 17

Filipino-American brothers Justin and Nathan Brewer who call their duo The Brewer Boys made it to the Top 4 selections of judge Paula Abdul in the Groups category, allowing them to advance to the next round of the US franchise of "The X Factor" along with the Top 4 choices of judges Nicole Scherzinger (Over 30s), and L.A. Reid (Boys under 30s) as well as Simon Cowell's Top 5 (Girls under 30s).

The Brewer Boys has been consistent so far in giving the judges charming performances. They got easy "yes's" with their rendition of Plain White Ts’“Rhythm of Love” during their audition in Los Angeles and shone with their joint performance of Snow Patrol’s “Chasing Cars” in "Bootcamp" round where they were selected as one of the Top 8 in their category.

For the "Judge's House" round, Justin and Nathan did a cover of Rihanna’s “Only Girl in the World” which sent them to the next round where they are going to perform live on national TV. The said episode is set to air on October 25th in the US (October 26 in the Philippines on Studio 23).

Justin, 17, and Nathan, 14, were born in the US to a Filipino mother who hails from Manila. The boys shared on the show that it was their mom who "got us into singing."

Another Fil-Am singer is also set to perform in the "Live Shows." She is Ellona Santiago who is a member of inTENsity, a group of young singers who originally auditioned solo - they were formed after the "Bootcamp" round.

The Brewer Boys and Ellona's group inTensity are joined in the Finals by Simone Battle, Drew Ryniewicz, Tiah Tolliver and Rachel Crow (Girls under 30s); Brian Bradley, Phillip Lomax, Chris Rene and Marcus Canty (Boys under 30s) Lakoda Rayne, and The Stereo Hogzz (Groups); and Josh Krajcik, Dexter Haygood, LeRoy Bell and Stacy Francis (Over 30s).

'The X Factor USA" premiered on September 21 and will crown its first winner in December. The winner will be receiving a whooping US$5 million recording contract with Epic Records.
