The Sylistics, a chart-topping “Sweet Philly” band from the 70s, is coming to Manila this 2012 for a one night concert.

The Sylistics Live in Manila 2012 concert will be staged on January 26, 2012 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Formed in 1968, vocalists from two Philadelphia soul groups, The Monarchs and The Percussions, merged together to create the band that would later be known as “the Philly group with the sweet love songs.” The Stylistics’ launched into superstardom when they were signed by Avco Records and, soon after, were introduced to producer/songwriter Thom Bell. Their first self-titled album received staggering reviews and broke barriers by releasing an unprecedented six singles to the airwaves. With much credit to Bell, the Stylistics’ first 12 releases topped the U.S. R&B charts during the early 70s.

Among the band's popular hits are "Stop, Look, Listen (To Your Heart)", "You Are Everything", "Betcha by Golly, Wow", "I'm Stone in Love with You", "Break Up to Make Up", and "You Make Me Feel Brand New".
