Bagyong Quiel makes a landfall over Isabela: Pagasa

Bagyong Quiel (Typhoon Quiel) has made a landfall over Dinapigue, Isabela, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Admnistration (PAGASA) said Saturday.

The state weather bureau added that Typhoon Quiel is expected to cross Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Ifugao, Benguet and will exit La Union this afternoon.
Public Storm Warning Signals are still hoisted over the following areas:

The PAGASA concluded its bulletin with the following advisories:
Residents in low lying and mountainous areas under Public Storm Warning Signals are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides. Likewise, those living in coastal areas are alerted against big waves or storm surges generated by this tropical cyclone.
Bagyong Quiel is expected to enhance the Southwest Monsoon and will bring scattered to widespread rains over Southern Luzon.
Estimated total rainfall over Magat Dam catchment during the passage of Typhoon Quiel is 200-400 mm.
Estimated total rainfall over San Roque Dam catchment areas is 100-150 mm over a period of 24 hrs starting 8 AM today
Estimated total rainfall over Angat Dam catchment due to Monsoon is from 80-100 mm starting later today.
Estimated rainfall amount is from 15 - 25 mm per hour within the 500 km diameter of the Typhoon.
