Showtime names Astig Pinoy as its 4th grand champion

Showtime has proclaimed the winner of its 4th season during the grand finals held at the Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo City over the weekend.

Besting 13 other Showtime finalists, Astig Pinoy, a dance group from Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental who came up with combining modern and folk dances together, took home the title after the judges gave them the highest and almost perfect score of 9.933/10.

Astig Pinoy bagged the P1 million cash prize as well as another P1 million cold cash for their home barangay.

Although they failed to win, UDC of Pasig City grabbed P100,000 after selected as Madlang Pipol’s Choice.

Bailes De Luces of Negros Occidental, Buli Kidz Incredible of Batangas, D’ Shots of Caloocan, Kingz Gambit of Cebu, FMD Extreme of Marikina, Kalumon Performing Ensemble of Davao, Neutron Acrobats of Bulacan, Pinoy Hiphop of Antipolo, Prime Machine of Negros Oriental, Racing Chat of Sampaloc, Spy of Maynila, and Teatro Ambahanon of Quezon City also competed in the grand finals.

The panel of judges included celebrities Ara Mina, Vina Morales, Ina Raymundo, Kiray, Ryan Bang, Jhong Hilario, Dra. Vicky Belo, Dr. Manny Calayan, Joel Cruz, Luis Manzano, Joey Marquez, Chris Everingham and Liz Uy.

Vice Ganda may have not won the showdown of "Showtime" hosts this week but apparently he won the hearts of many people by tickling their funny bones with his performance.

Two video recordings of "Showtime's" October 20 live episode are currently among the most viewed videos in the country this week. This is the episode wherein Vice Ganda's spoof of Anne Curtis' blockbuster movie "No Other Woman" was aired. He called it "No Other Horse" with special participation of his Pooh and Chocoleit and hunk actor Derek Ramsay. Although, the quality of the clips are really poor, fans, especially those who missed the episode, can't complain much since they're the only ones left on Youtube -the clear ones have been deleted by ABS-CBN. Vice Ganda's performance was scored 9.8 by the judges, which was second only to Anne Curtis' act which got a perfect score of 10. Billy Crawford tied with Vice in the second place.

The hosts' week-long showdown is part of the second anniversary celebration of "Showtime." Vhong Navarro, Kuya Kim Atienza and Karylle also competed in the showdown.

Anne Curtis has been hailed the winner of the special week-long talent showdown in "Showtime," besting other hosts of the show namely Vice Ganda, Billy Crawford, Karylle, Vhong Navarro, and Kuya Kim Atienza.

Anne Curtis received a perfect score of 10 from the judges for her fun and "wet-and-wild" act which showcased her never-before-seen talents such as pole and air dancing, plus her "breathtaking" performances of  Adele's "Some Like You" and Aerosmith's "I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing."

Anne was awarded P100,000 cash for winning the showdown which she pledged to donate to UNICEF Philippines.

Meanwhile, the "unkabogable" Vice Ganda and international performer Billy Crawford tied in the second place with 9.8. They both received P50,000 cash prize.

The contest is part of the second anniversary celebration of "Showtime."
