More than 200 Elizabeth "Liz" Taylor jewelry pieces will be auctioned in December.

According to Christie's auction house, the December event will showcase "the greatest private collection of jewellery ever assembled in one place."

Among the Liz Taylor jewelry to be sold will be a ruby and diamond necklace designed by the late Hollywood actress herself with a 16th-century pearl that once belonged to Spanish royalty. It is expected to go for $2-3 million.

The Liz Taylor jewelry auction will be held on December 13-14, 2011 in New York and will bring together 269 necklaces, diamond rings, brooches and earrings valued at more than $30 million.

Elizabeth Taylor was an Oscar-winning actress who died on March 23 at the age of 79. She won two Academy Awards for best actress, including her remarkable performance in "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" in 1966.
