Tropical Depression Juaning - July 26, 2011 PAGASA Update

Tropical Depression Juaning (Bagyong Juaning) has slightly slowed down and is now moving in a West Northwest direction, threatening Isabela-Aurora area, the PAGASA said Tuesday morning.

According to PAGASA's 5 a.m. (July 26, 2011) bulletin, Bagyong Juaning was last located at 130 kms Northeast of Virac, Catanduanes. It has maximum winds of 55 kph near the center and is moving West Northwestward at 17kph.

The weather bureau also raised Public Storm Warning Signal Number 1 (PSWS#1) in the following areas:

Kalinga
Cagayan
Isabela
Ifugao
Mt. Province
La Union
Pangasinan
Benguet
Nueva Vizcaya
Nueva Ecija
Quirino
Aurora
Quezon
Polillo Island
Catanduanes
Sorsogon
Albay
Camarines Provinces

The PAGASA warns residents in low lying and mountainous areas under PSWS#1 of possible flashfloods and landslides.

Trpical Depression Juaning is also expected to continue bringing rains over Central and Southern Luzon and of Visayas.

Bagyong "Juaning" (Tropical Depression "Juaning") has developed from the Low Pressure Area in Eastern Visayas, the PAGASA said Monday.

"Juaning" was last spotted at 350 kms East Southeast of Virac, Catanduanes at 10:00 am on July 25, 2011, the Philippine weather bureau said through a a bulletin.

The bulletin added the tropical cyclone has maximum winds of 55 kph near the center adn is moving at a rate of 15 kph in a Northwest direction.

Tropical Depression "Juaning" is forecast to be at the following locations in the following days:

Tuesday morning:
180 km North Northeast of Virac, Catanduanes or
320 km East Southeast of Casiguran, Aurora

Wednesday morning:
90 km North of Casiguran, Aurora or
140 km Southeast of Aparri, Cagayan

Thursday morning:
200 km Northwest of Aparri, Cagayan

There has been no Public Storm Warning Signal issued. However, the PAGASA said the weather disturbance "will continue to bring rains over Southern Luzon and Eastern Visayas becoming widespread in Bicol region and Samar area."
