The Walking Dead Season 2 Episode 8 To Air In February 2012

The Walking Dead Season 2 Episode 8 airs on a later date*
Are you an avid fan of the American post-apocalyptic horror TV series "The Walking Dead"? If you are, the seventh episode of the current season must have left you wondering what will happen to Grimes' group now that they found out that Sophia, who went missing and the reason why the group has not been ousted from Hershel's farm, has been turned into a walker. Well, your questions will not be answered this week since there will be no "The Walking Dead" episode to be aired this week. And the next episode will not be arriving next week neither. "The Walking Dead Season 2 Episode 8" titled "Nebraska" will come out on February 12, 2012 according to AMC. Yeah, it's bad news.

The good news is that you can watch more episodes this season since there are 13 of them now, compared to last season's six. And not only that, "The Walking Dead" has been renewed for a third season. What about that?

If you're experiencing separation anxiety, you can perhaps just check out other series like "Dexter" instead.

Coldplay In Manila Hoax Circulates

Coldplay in Manila fake poster
A poster which contains details of a Coldplay Live In Manila Concert in 2012 made its way online recently and is making the rounds in social networking sites right now. But apparently, the said poster did not come from the concert promoters whose logos are printed on it.

In an announcement posted on its official Facebook page, Dayly Entertainment stated that the said Coldplay in Manila poster is a hoax.

"We would like to inform everyone that the poster of Coldplay Live In Manila 2012 being spread around in social media sites is a HOAX! For everyone's information. Thanks" the announcement reads.

So who was the source of the poster?

Dayly Entertainment said that it came from a guy named Roe Alfaro who made the poster for his Computer Graphic class.

Just last month, a rumor had Noypi fans hoping for a Coldplay Live in Manila concert after a Malaysian website wrote about a Coldplay Asian Tour next year. Read more details here: http://noypistuff.blogspot.com/2011/11/coldplay-live-in-manila-2012.html

Cockroach that jumps like a grasshopper discovered in South Africa (Video)

Cockroach that jumps similar to a grasshopper found
A cockroach that jumps has been discovered in South Africa recently. A group of scientists found out that the jumping mechanisms of the cockroach resemble to that of a grasshopper with whom it shares its natural shrubland habitat. The leaping cockroach also has similar anatomical features to the other insect.

Called "leaproach", the said cockroach (Saltoblattella montistabularis) jumps up to 48 times the length of its body. According to one of its discoverers, Mike Picker of the University of Cape Town, hopping and jumping constitute 71 percent of the cockroach's locomotion.

The zoologist added that the leaproach's jumps are made possible by rapid and synchronous extension of its hind legs that are twice the length of the other legs and make up 10 per cent of its body weight.

"The large hind legs have grooved femora into which the tibiae engage fully in advance of a jump, and have resilin, an elastic protein, at the femoro-tibial joint. The extensor tibiae muscles contracted for 224 ms before the hind legs moved, indicating that energy must be stored and then released suddenly in a catapult action to propel a jump." Picker said.

So far, the jumping cockroach has been found only in a small patch of grassland in Table Mountain National Park in Cape Town. Researchers think it may have turned to leaping as the easiest way to navigate a habitat of long grass stems.

Here's a slow motion footage of a female Saltoblattella montistabularis jumping:
